Every tile has its own pop-up menu, called a tile menu. The tile menus let you do many different things with tiles. • Click and hold: Hold the mouse button down on a tile to see its menu. After a brief delay of about a second, the menu will appear. • ⌘-click a tile to see its menu instantly. This is the same as click-and-hold, but faster. • Control-click a tile to see its contextual menu, which is slightly different from its normal tile menu. Tile menus vary, but all tile and contextual menus have the same first eight items: • Open (Item Name) — Selecting this is the same as clicking the tile: the tile’s item is opened and brought forward. • Get Info switches to the Finder and opens the Info window for the tile’s item. • Find Original opens the folder that contains the item, and selects and displays the item in the Finder. • Remember Tile makes this a remembered tile. See Creating Remembered Tiles for details. If this is already a remembered tile, this menu item will be “Forget Tile.” • Hide Tile makes the tile invisible without deleting it. See Hiding Tiles for details. • Tile Color lets you select a custom background color for this tile. • Edit Tile Text lets you change the text displayed on a tile. See Editing Tile Text for details. • Hot Key lets you assign or remove a hot key for this tile. See Setting Hot Keys for details.
